Pembrokeshire also has two low-power relays co-channel on 107.5 MHz. These relays are situated at Tenby and Fishguard. The above map is a pixel plot for these two sites. The Tenby relay
is situated on top of a Tenby hotel and overlooks the town itself, but
as it is somewhat shielded by surrounding hills I found that more
distant coverage was rather poor, and this is born out by the pixel plot.
This low siting of the Tenby aerial was no doubt intentional as the relay is co-channel with Fishguard and localities outside of Tenby get a reasonable signal from the main station at Haverfordwest. Reception of 107.5 is quite possible well outside the service area of the two relay stations, but is obviously relatively weak in many areas. The interaction between the two channel-sharing transmitters is quite evident and is plagued by a very 'wobbly' burbling noise! |

Radio Carmarthenshire, a sister station of Radio Pembrokeshire, came on air in 2004 from a high power (3kW) transmitter at Carmel on 97.1 MHz and from a low power relay transmitter for the town of Carmarthen on 97.5 MHz. |

PONTYPRIDD COMMUNITY RADIO - GTFM 107.9 |
|||||||||||||
The first map shows the coverage of the community radio station in Pontypridd (GTFM) from the original transmitting site at the Pontypridd transmitting tower. Power was 50 watts vertical, omnidirectional. Aerial height is approximately 355 meters above sea level. In 2007 the transmitting frequency was changed to 107.9 MHz and the transmitter site changed to Bryn Tail Farm. The new aerial is now directional facing 270 degrees. The new transmitter site is also lower than the original one at approximately 272 meters above sea level. This is an effort to reduce overspill of the signal outside the intended area whilst maintaining good reception in Pontypridd and the immediate area. In fact it seems that the signal may be stonger in Pontypridd itself and may also be better towards Porth and extend further north westwards whilst indeed being more restricted to the south and east. Coverage from the new site at Bryn Tail Farm is shown in the second map below. ![]() Pontypridd

| SOUTH WALES REGIONAL |

The regional licence for South Wales came on air in 2000 with programmes provided by 'Real Radio'. Initially from transmitters at St Hilary, Kilvey Hill and Christchurch the station covered Cardiff, Newport and Swansea. By 2004 the station had increased coverage across the whole of South Wales by adding main transmitters at Carmel (3kW) for Carmarthenshire and Preseley (9.4kW) with Fishguard (0.5kW) for Pembrokeshire. |
