As
with all the shots of this tower, the above photograph was taken from
quite a distance away - from the end of the driveway up to the
transmitter buldings, in fact. But with a long zoom lens the
photograph isn't too bad!
At the top of the tower can be seen some small white aerial panels,
these are most probably for the transmission of UHF Digital Terrestrial
Television (DTT) Freeview etc.
The large white cylinder houses the main aerials used for analogue UHF
television. Below this and the platform are the radio aerials
used forVHF / FM broadcasting.
Immediately below the radio aerials are some more UHF aerial panels
used for broadcasting television. The could be reserve aerials,
or the aerials used by Channel Five Television.
Also on this tower are the Band III aerials used for broadcasting DAB
radio signals.
